Today we share a Sister Story from Erin. She writes to us from Chicago, Illinois.
My name is Erin, and I have a sister named Ruth. She was named after our Grandma Ruth who passed away a few years ago. It is nice to have our grandma's name carry on with the family, even though my sister is not the biggest fan of her name. Personally, I think it is beautiful.
Due to our busy work schedules, I do not get to see her very often. We usually see each other during the holidays and family parties, and my sister is a lot of fun to be around. I tend to be more serious, and I wish I laughed more often. I know some people who laugh all day long, and I do not know how they do it. Don't get me wrong, I like funny comedies, but I am not the type to laugh aloud unless it is really funny.
When I am with Ruth, she knows how to turn on the silly switch. She uses this unique form of sarcasm that I need in my life, so her sarcasm helps remind me to be silly, too. She helps me appreciate the daily grind. I love that about her.
My sister, Ruth, is a pretty cool person to know. I am lucky to have her in my life.
